The Golden Set was my 2024 Iron Viz feeder entry, on the topic of Love. Within the interactive visualisation you learn about how rare the golden set in tennis is.

Love, as a word for a score of zero, has been used in tennis since the late 1800s. It originates from the idea that a person who fails to make any points doesn’t mind because they are playing for the love of the game.

“The Golden Set” refers to when a tennis player wins a set (24 points) without dropping a single point. It has only ever been done once at any Grand Slam tournament.
